Taking over the agenda of good governance to common masses, BJP organized several programmes across the State on the eve of birthday of former Prime Minister, Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee whose day of birth is celebrated as the “Good Governance Day”. Main event in this regard was held by BJP J&K State Unit at its State headquarter, Trikuta Nagar wherein the newly selected KAS candidates were also felicitated by senior leaders led by BJP State President & MLA Sat Sharma along with State General Secretary (Org.) Ashok Kaul and State General Secretary Harinder Gupta. Programme was organized by BJP State Spokesperson, Brig. (Retd.) Anil Gupta.
Sat Sharma, while speaking on the occasion, said that governance period of 6 years, right from 1998 to 2004, is remembered for the agenda of development for the first time since independence. He said that former Prime Minister, Bharat Ratna Atal took the developmental pace to new heights, by the way of Saksharta Mission, Chaturbhuj, the endeavour of linking all the villages through the roads, the Pokhran nuclear tests and then winning the Kargil war not only on battlefield but on the table also, which was always lost during earlier battles. Today the agenda of development is taken forward by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi which was started by Atal ji, he said. He also asked the newly selected KAS candidates to keep Nation first while taking the motto of Good Governance while they will be serving in executive services. Wished and prayed Almighty on his 93rd birthday that he remains healthy for decades to come so that we all are showered with his blessings and guidance in the times to come.
Ashok Kaul gave the brief life sketch of Atal Bihari Vajpayee from his early childhood and the struggles he has seen throughout his life. He also emphasized his role in the “Praja Parishad Andolan” of 1953 under the great ideologue, Shyama Prasad Mookherjee. He also emphasized the linking of rivers for the boosting the water resource especially Narmada.
J&K State Assembly Speaker & MLA, Kavinder Gupta emphasized the role of Atal ji on the mobilization of people against the corrupt rule of Congress in the Nation. He also recalled his important role in the formation of BJP over issue of dual membership.
MLA Rajesh Gupta spoke on the importance of “Sushsan Diwas” and highlighted that the concept of Good Governance was conceptualized by the BJP, while speaking on his Drinking water, pro-people schemes now
Harinder Gupta conducted the proceedings of the stage.
Brig. (Retd.) Anil Gupta welcomed all the selected KAS candidates in the programme and expressed hope that they will serve the Nation effectively with sincerity and unmatched professionalism.
On the occasion, Brig Jamwal also joined the ranks of BJP owing to the good governance of the party and was welcomed by BJP State President.
