On the Occasion of Accession Day, BJP District Jammu West under the leadership of District President Ayodhya Gupta organized a seminar titled “Accession of J&K to India is Full and Final” at District Office Kacchi Chawni Jammu.
BJP State President & MLA Sat Sharma CA, BJP Chief spokesperson Sunil Sethi was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Proceedings were initiated with the lightening of 70 earthen lamps
Sat Sharma said that State of Jammu and Kashmir acceded to the Indian Union on October 26, 1947 when Maharaja Hari Singh signed an Instrument of Accession like other princely states. It is due to the timely and wise decision of the then Maharaja that we are enjoying democracy. Hence, like other festivals, the Accession Day is also a day to be celebrated with great pomp and show. He also appealed the government for declaring 26th October as state Holiday.
Sunil Sethi said in his key note address, laid emphasis on the fact that the accession of J&K is legal, voluntary, constitutional and non-negotiable. He explained the finer aspects of Instrument of Accession and India Independence Act of 1947. He criticized Nehru for going to UN at behest of Mountbatten where in the issue of “Aggression ”was confused with “Accession” . He also appreciated Maharaja Hari Singh for being a great nationalist and referred to him as “first Indian of J&K”.
Ayodhya said The accession of J&K with union of India was full and final and in line with the accession done by princely states in other parts of India.
