Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Kashmir is going to organize the International Yoga Day in all the districts of Valley on 21th of this month.
Preparations are going on to ensure smooth conduct and a meeting was held today at its Jawahar Nagar office, where BJP leaders highlighted the benefits of Yoga.
The party has decided the venue at Ram Munshi Bagh near Sher e Kashmir stadium in which senior BJP leader will also participate.
“BJP believes Yoga is an invaluable gift of India’s ancient tradition. It embodies unity of mind and body thought and action, restraint and fulfillment harmony between man and nature a holistic approach to health and well-being,” said, Ashok Bhatt, District Vice-President Srinagar.
“It is not only about exercise, but to discover the sense of oneness within you,” he added.
Yoga is a physical, mental and spiritual practice having its origin over 6000 years ago in India, aims to integrate the body and the mind.
“21st June was declared as the International Yoga Day by the United Nations General Assembly on December 11th, 2014,” said Altaf Thakur, Media In Charge Kashmir.
The meeting was attended by Dr Ali Mohd Mir, Arif Raja, Mohammad Tahir Mir, Sheikh Bashir, Hakeem Masood, Molvi Tariq, Hilal Jan and Bilal Parray.
Constituency Presidents of District Srinagar were also present in the meeting.
