Led by BJP Mahila Morcha State President Purnima Sharma, morcha activists held protest against Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad and also burnt his effigy.
Similar protest was organized by Jammu District BJP under District President Baldev Singh Billawaria in which hundreds of party activists took out a protest march and later burnt the effigy of Azad at Gangyal Chowk after passing through main market.
Activists of BJP Mahila Morcha and District BJP were raising slogans against Congress and Ghulam Nabi Azad for his statement comparing the deaths of people during last three days with the martyrs of Uri.
Purnima Sharma, while speaking at Kachi Chawni Chowk, said that it is most unfortunate that a leader like Ghulam Nabi Azad has committing blunder by equating the people dying in ordinary situations with those sacrificing their lives for the nation while defending the sovereignty of the motherland. Whatever Congress leader has said is highly condemnable and Ghulam Nabi Azad should openly seek apology and also assure the nation to not repeat such remarks in future.
Baldev Singh Billawaria, while addressing the protesting activists at Gangyal Chowk, said that the Congress leaders are making such statements which are very dangerous as the same has the potential of creating trouble in the public. He said that whether in Parliament or outside it, whatever is spoken should not sent the wrong message of supporting the line of anti-national elements. He expressed hope that the Congress will rein in its leaders to remain in the confinement of the democratic norms and not to disturb the social fabric are heart the sentiments of the families of martyrs and the nationalist people.
Similar protests were held in every district by the leaders of BJP, its morchas and Cells.
