On the occasion of Birth anniversary of Vijaya Verma, a painting competition and plantation was undertaken in Govt. Middle School Barnai. It was organized by Vijaya Verma Educational Trust, Ganderbal under its Chairman Sanjay Verma.
BJP State President & MLA Sat Sharma (C.A), alongwith State General Secretary (Org.) Ashok Kaul as Chief Guests, distributed the prizes among the winning students and also planted saplings in the premises of the school alongwith party leaders, Principal Sunita Sharma.
Sat Sharma, while congratulating the candidates who got top positions in painting competition, said that besides academic studies, other activities are also important and the parents as well as the school authorities should encourage the students to adopt innovative activities as hobbies.
“Although the present day studies are very hectic and tiring but simply keeping busy with books and note books is not enough and hence other activities are important to get exposure to other things in the competitive era”. He also spoke on the importance of planting trees and keeping the surroundings green.
Ashok Kaul, on this occasion, said that the PM Modi’s initiative of “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan” has received overwhelming response and the students in particular can be more effective in educating the people and the families about the need of cleanliness to check many diseases as well. He said that since oxygen is important for survival, each one of us should plant trees and care them so that they grow and maintain the nature’s balance.
