In an impressive function organized by BJP Anusuchit Jaati Morcha under the leadership of its State President Surinder Bhagat, the recently elected members of Parliament of BJP from Jammu-Poonch and Kathua-Udhampur-Doda Constituencies were felicitated by presenting bouquets, mementos and garlands by prominent Morcha activists.
Both, Jugal Kishore Sharma and Dr. Jitendra Singh were earlier given a rousing reception on their arrival at the function venue at the party headquarters.
Jugal Kishore Sharma, on this occasion, said that in his victory the contribution of SC voters has been pivotal. The SC voters like other communities, out rightly rejected Congress-NC candidates and conveyed that the past mistakes cannot be repeated and NC, Congress cannot be trusted anymore. He said that the Congress in particular has always taken the SCs for granted and did nothing for their welfare and upliftment. The educated and well informed common SC voter has realized that the BJP deserve their vote as it has very clear vision and commitment for equal treatment to all sections of the Indian society cutting across region, religion and caste lines.
Dr. Jitendra Singh said that more than 80% voters belonging to SCs have supported BJP in Kathua-Udhampur-Doda Constituency which is testimony of the fact that BJP is not untouchable for any section as was preached by Congress and other self proclaimed secular parties. He said that total wipe out of the Congress and NC is also an indication of the fact that these parties have lost their ground even among the SCs due to anti-SC mindset and policies. He expressed hope that the BJP will continue to get the support of SCs in future also.
Ashok Khajuria, while demanding immediate resignation of State Chief Minister Omar Abdullah like Nitish Kumar, said that the CM should own responsibility for the defeat of coalition candidates. He said that even NC-Congress candidates could not succeed in misleading the SC voters anymore, which was last nail in their coffin. He cautioned the SCs to beware of the anti SC and anti-poor policies of the state’s coalition government.
State General Secretary (Organisation) Ashok Koul said that the BJP is grateful to SC voters in Jammu province who supported our candidates overwhelmingly. He said that the total cleansing of BSP even in its strong hold of UP also indicate that the politics of dividing people on the lines of caste and sub-castes has no place in present day political environment.
State General Secretary Bali Bhagat in his address said that for the first time BJP has got the highest percentage of votes in J&K with Congress trailing far behind at the second place having captured two out of three regions of the state and comprehensive and complete wipe out of Congress and NC from the entire state. The BJP has started interacting with various members of civil society, prominent politicians, various social and cultural organizations of the valley for future electoral arrangements and is bound to make decisive inroads there, he said.
BJP SC State President Surinder Bhagat presented vote of thanks and assured the party leadership of taking BJP’s policies among the SC population.
