Mandate 2014 a mandate against autonomy demand and for national integration: Jugal

Sincerely thanking the people of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh for the manner in which they defeated pro-autonomy NC and divisive and communal Congress party and returned to the Lok Sabha three BJP members from Jammu province and Ladakh region, BJP State President & MP (Lok Sabha) Jugal Kishore Sharma on Monday said that the 2014 mandate is a mandate against those who were demanding autonomy and playing divisive politics. “The vote for BJP in Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh was a vote for the would- be Prime Minister Narendra Modi, for national integration and against the so-called mainstream parties in the state like National Conference and Congress,” he said and added that the historic verdict would go a long way in changing the political history of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh and unleash a process that would not only hasten the process of the state’s political, constitutional and economic integration but would also culminate in an environment that would take care and satisfy the social, cultural, economic and political aspirations of all the people inhabiting different regions of the state.

Sharma reiterated that the BJP will work for the Union Territory (UT) status for Ladakh, political empowerment of Jammu province and watch the genuine interest of the people of Kashmir valley and fulfill all the commitments it made to the refugees from West Pakistan, POJK and Kashmir. “The BJP is fully aware of the plight of the refugees from West Pakistan who have denied citizenship rights in the state. The BJP is also seized of the problem facing the refugees from PoJK and Kashmir. The redressal of their grievances is on the top of the BJP agenda. The party will leave no stone unturned to come up to the expectation of all social groups and communities,” he said adding that the BJP at the same time will see to it that those demanding autonomy, self-rule and separation are comprehensively defeated.

BJP MP from Jammu-Poonch Parliamentary Constituency hailed the people of the state for their political understanding and said it was because of the fact that the people were fully aware of the negative impact of the Congress-led UPA government’s and NC-Congress coalition government’s on the polity that they routed both the NC and the Congress. He advised the PDP leadership to give up its self-rule demand as there is no place whatsoever in the state for divisive politics and asserted that the PDP would meet the same fate as the NC met owing to its insistence on autonomy demand. He reassured the people of the state that the BJP, unlike the Congress and the NC, will not fail them. Article 370 has to go lock, stock and barrel, he also said and added that this special provision is the mother of all ills facing the people of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh.
