Rural areas to be developed at par with urban one
Speaker J&K, Legislative assembly and MLA, Gandhi Nagar, Kavinder Gupta today conducted a day long tour of rural belt of Gandhi Nagar, Dharap, Khawaskhan, Sher Garh, Sunjwan, Bhathindi areas were visited by the Speaker.
The Speaker was accompanied by the officers of PWD(R&B), PHE, I&FC, Rural development department and prominent people of the area.
Mr. Gupta started various development works in these areas. He inaugurated the Black topping of road at Dharap, Khwaskhan, Bhathindi and inspected various ongoing development works in these areas and inspected the De-Silting work of irrigation Canals.
Locals appreciated the efforts and the initiatives taken by the Speaker and expressed their gratitude to him for taking up these works on top priority and also raised certain issues pertaining to the medical facilities, up-gradation of Jeewan Nagar- Muraliyan road, Sunwan –Chatta road, proper supply of irrigation water, Culverts, repairing of internal links and proper electricity supply for the area.
Responding to demands of the locals, he said that he is aware of all these issues and has already initiated the process of addressing them. He said that the work on blacktopping of the road from Sunjwan to Chatta and Jeevan Nagar to Muraliyan has already been sanctioned and will start very soon.
While speaking on the occasion, Gupta said that the activities of rural areas contribute a lot in the economy of the nation and the infrastructure in these areas is required to be developed and strengthened at par with the urban area.
He said that he is committed for the development of Gandhi Nagar and doing step motherly behavior with the people is not in our blood as it is the trademark of NC-Congress only and the public has taken a sigh of relief with the working of present government and the difference is visible with the quality of works which are going on.
Gupta said, he will not leave any stone unturned for the development of Gandhi Nagar and all their genuine demands will be fulfilled in a phased manner. Baldev Billoria, Harbans Chowdhary, Vinay Gupta, Sunil Dogra, Baldev Singh, Charan Singh were prominent among others who accompanied the Speaker.
