Daljit Singh Advisory Board for Development of Kisan attended the 16th Martyr’s day at Anantnag

Shri Daljit Singh Chib (MoS), Vice Chairman J&K State Advisory Board for Development of Kisans attended the 16th Martyr’s day of Shaheed S.S. Manhas, Deputy Commandant BSF 151 BN who laid down his life for the nation while fighting with the terrorists on 9th of December,2001  at Khuri-Butpura in District Anantnag. A well-organized function was held in  Government Girls  High School, Jourian in which Shri Daljit Singh Chib  was the  Chief Guest and Dr. K.L. Bhagat MLA, Chamb was Guest of Honour.

Mr. Chib while paying tributes to him said that Late S.S. Manhas who belonged to village Manchak, Jourian was very brilliant Student and was very courageous right from his child hood. He said that our country is fighting against terrorism for the last 27 years and lauded the role of the Security forces who were instrumental in eliminating thousands of terrorists to keep the boundaries of the  our country intact .

Shri Chib demanded that the Local School at village Manchak should be named as Shaheed Shamsheer Singh Manhas (School) so that his name and his work will become an example for the youths to serve the country.

SDM, Khour , SDM, Akhnoor, Ex.Sarpanch Avar Singh, Balbir Singh and other prominent personalities of the area besides hundreds of school children were present on the occasion.
