M.L.A R.S Pura Dr. Gagan Bhagat visited the memorial of Kargil War Hero RFN Tarsem Lal (Shaheed No. 9097495) of 12 JAKLI at his native village Gandli in R.S Pura and paid tributes to him who Made supreme sacrifice of his life while fighting Pakistani intruders in the Kargil Sector in 1999 to uphold the dignity of the nation. Saluting the courage of brave Tarsem Lal, Dr. Gagan Bhagat said that the victory in Kargil was an achievement for which the nation is proud of the soldiers and citizens must rededicate themselves to the national cause and with unrelenting courage and fierce determination, our braves soldiers are guarding the country from the enemy’s clutches. While our brave jawans are still on a tough mission to uphold the dignity of our nation, the least which the rest of the countrymen can do is to give them moral support. Though we are hundreds of miles away, living in comforts of our homes with our families around us, we must Assure them that we are with them all the time, said Dr. Gagan Bhagat while paying tributes to the brave heart. It was known from the local villagers that the martyr Tarsem Lal was brave right from his childhood. On the occasion he also hailed the award of “Chief of Army Staff’s Commendation Card” to Army Major Leetul Gogoi for his sustained efforts in counter-insurgency operations in militancy affected areas of Kashmir Valley.Dr. Gagan maintained that He was a very motivated soldier and had impressed us all with his vigor, courage and devotion to duty. Rifleman .Dr. Gagan Bhagat saluted the hero’s sacrifice who made us all proud and his village a historian landmark. Dr. Gagan further said that a Shaheed Smarak will be constructed at R.S Pura very soon, not only as tribute to martyrs but also to inspire the next generation,” he said. said that there is a glorious tradition in a number of families to send their children in the armed forces to serve the nation. “It was his father’s wish to see his son join the army one of the villager present on the occasion said .The Martyr dies for whole nation and not only for a village, he has made us proud by sacrificing his life during the Kargil war he added.Dr. Gagan also announced the road from New Plots Salehar to Village Kool Kalan will be named after the Shaheed Tarsem Lal and a park in the heart of the village as a tribute to the Martyr.On the occasion Amar Singh Charak, Pratap Bhagat, Dwarka Nath, Sham Sharma,Bunty Charak, Hardayal, Bunty Charak, sisters and other family members of the Martyrs were also present.
