Union Minister in PMO with independent charge of North Eastern States, Dr. Jitendra Singh today held a public darbar at his office at 13 A Gandhi Nagar here and the people from different parts of the Jammu region apprised him of their respective problems. The people while apprising Dr Singh of their respective problems sought his intervention in settling them. A delegation of youth who had applied in Indian Overseas Bank through UDDAN sought Union Minister’s intervention in making their selection as the Bank authorities had refused to appoint them. Dr. Singh issued on spot instructions to his staff to take up the issue with concerned authorities in the State Government so that the issue is settled and the problem of the youth is redressed. Another delegation which met Dr Singh was of PHE daily wagers who sought their regularization saying that they were working on meager pay for years together and the State Government has no policy for their regularization or hiking their wages. The employees said that they are unable to make their both ends meet during these tough days. Dr. Singh urged his staff to take up the issue with PHE Minister Sham Choudhary so that the genuine issue of these daily rated workers is settled. A delegation of people from Billawar also met Dr Singh and highlighted various issues including inclusion of their area in Samba district instead of Udhampur which is far away. Besides it demanded development of Mansar and Surinsar Lakes as well as construction of emergency hospital in the area. Dr. Singh while assuring the development of Mansar and Surinsar lake said that the issue of inclusion of area with Samba district will be taken up with Revenue Minister by him and establishment of Hospital with Health and Medical Education Minister Bali Bhagat. Some people came up with their individual problems to the Union Minister and in some genuine cases the Minister issued on spot instructions to the concerned authorities for settling them. During the public Darbar, Dr Singh informed the people about the various public welfare schemes taken up in hand by Narendra Modi Government and urged them to take their full advantage. He also highlighted the welfare and developmental schemes taken up in hand in his Kathua-Doda Parliamentary Constituency like skill development programme, IIT, AIIMS, IIM, Biotech and dream land park at Kathua, construction of toilets along border in Hiranagar border belt, allotment of five marlas land for border people in Hiranagar belt, hiking the perks of VDCs etc. He said Rs 80,000 crore package sanctioned by Modi Government for the State is aimed at developing the infrastructure in all the three regions of the State for their equitable development. The Modi Government has shown total magnanimity for the development of the State saying that Mr Modi has already said that the coffers of his Government are open for the State.
