S.S.Bijral former IGP, State Convener Beti Bachao Beti Padhao accompanied by State Committee members Anju Dogra and Kamal Singh Choudhary held seminars on Beti Bachao Beti Padhao in succession at Govt. Girls Hr. Sec. Schools, Sir Abraham Lincoln Embark Garrison Sen Sec. School and Sirswati Institute Of Research and Studies today, all located at tehsil Bishnah Jammu district that as per census of 2011 have worrisome low Child Sex Ratio (CSR) of 795 girls against 1000 boys.
Addressing staff and students of the institutes addressed Bijral stressed the need on society to appreciate known qualities of girl child of yester years that she could project despite the not so welcoming society and encourage them to project the hidden untapped numerous others society has not benefitted from. Quoting William Shakespeare: “ Women are foolish to say that they are equal to men as they are miles ahead and superior than men,” he reminded all how Mother Teresa born Albanian , lived In Kolkata and belonged to the whole world earning along life journey India’s highest civil award Bharat Ratna, World highest Noble Peace Prize, Templeton prize and lot many others; and Sakshi Malik and PV Sindhu rescued India in just concluded Rio Olympics winning a Bronze Medal’ and ‘Silver Medal’ respectively.
Kamal Singh Choudhary counted progress achieved by girls in fields one after the other holding that society turned weak those that Nature had made strong born as women. He condemned the custom of ‘dowry’ prevalent in society and said the education of the girl child is the rich wealth a girl child carry along upon marriage.

At three institutes 48 girl students (GGHS School 11; Sir Abraham Lincoln Embark Garrison Sen Sec. School 13; and Saraswati Institute of Research & Studies 24) in all were awarded medals for having excelled in their board exams of 8th and 10th class. This was to encourage them for better performance in their career ahead.
At each of three institutes addressed, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao was fixed to serve as constant reminder to children and staff.
