One week long Holi celebrations started in Rajouri in a impressive function organised by Behroon Committe of Rajouri. The function was inaugurated by BJP senior leader and MLC Vibodh Gupta in presence of prominent citizens and large number of people from all walks of life.After the inauguration of the festival a Hanuman Janki was also organised which passed through various areas of Rajouri town.Addressing the gathering Vibodh said that the Holi celebrations in Rajouri are different from rest of the country.Moreover, the celebrations in Rajouri go on for one week and during all these days Processions with Baroon Janki are held at Rajouri and at Jawahar Nagar on alternate days.Vibodh further added that during all these days people pray for good health and for peace and prosperity in the town.These celebrations are excellent example of communal harmony and people specially kids take part in these celebrations with great enthusiasm and excitement.
Beopar Mandal President Rajouri Vijay Gupta also addressed the gathering and said that festivals like Holi add colour to our dull and boring lives.While referring to the week long Holi celebrations in Rajouri Chairman of the Bahroon committee Rajouri Vacky Dutta said that these extended celebrations are different from the celebrations in other parts of our country and historic in nature. He called upon the media agencies of country to come to Rajouri and cover these historic events being organised on various days of the coming week.While concluding the day one celebrationsVishal Dutta from Bharoon Committe thanked MLC Vibodh and all others for making the day one events a huge success.Speaking on the occasion Nishu Gupta called upon everyone to join the coming days celebrations specially the everyday Bharoon Janki in huge numbers and be part of these historic celebrations.Prominent among others who were present on the occasion included ,Amit Sawhney,Radish Sharma,Varun Sharma and Kaka Sharma .
