Thursday, R.S Pura .A Grand Shobhayatra was taken out in R.S.Pura on the occasion of Shri Guru Ravi Dass Jayanti which is on 10th of Feburary with great enthusiasm and religious fervor. MLA R.S.Pura Dr. Gagan Bhagat who was specially present on the occasion waived green flag to the Shobhayatra at Village Chak Bala in the presence of Gurdeep Giri Ji Maharaj of Pathankot with great enthusiasm and religious fervor .MLA R.S.Pura Dr. Gagan Bhagat who was the chief guest on the occasion while addressing the gathering of devotees said that Grand celebration are organized on the day of Guru Ravi Dass Jayanti each year by the devotees to show their respect towards the Guru Ravi Dass Ji.MLA R.S.Pura Dr. Gagan Bhagat, greeted the people on the occasion of Guru Ravi Dass Jayanti and appealed them to follow the teachings of this great saint. He also announced Rs. 5 Lacs to be released from his Constituency development fund for the balance work of Guru Ravi Dass ji maharaj community hall at village Chak Bala .He maintained that the teachings of Guruji of love, peace, brotherhood and equality are more relevant even today.He further threw light on the life history and teachings of Guru Ravi Dass ji and said that people should follow the path shown by the great Guru to the coming generations. A community lunch was also arranged for the devotees at the Ravi Dass Sabha community hall near BSNL exchange R.S Pura. A large number of devotees from various parts of R.S.Pura Constituency and adjoining Village attended this religious function .In connection with the Jayanti celebrations of great Guru, this grand function has been regularly organised at Guru Ravi Dass ji Temple at Village Chak Bala and afterwards Shobha Yatra is taken out by Ravi Dass Sabha R.S.Pura, this Shobha Yatra which started from Village Chak Bala while passing through several villages ended at Ravi Dass Mandir R.S.Pura. Guru Ravi Dass ji temple was highly decorated by the Management Committee while Sub-district administration had made elaborate security arrangements for the smooth conduct of the religious function.
