Directorate of Tourism Jammu and members of Jammu Association of Tour Operators organized a J&K Tourism Promotion Event at Hotel Radisson Blu, Kaushambi Ghaziabad, which was attended by prominent tour operators of Delhi NCR, Ghaziabad and Meerut area who are engaged in sending tourists to Jammu & Kashmir. The trade promotion event, which coincided with inauguration of a three week long Jammu & Kashmir Food Festival was first of its kind with prime focus on developing Jammu as independent tourism destination. Son of the soil, Shri Farooq Khan, Administrator Lakshadweep Island, Smt Priya Sethi MoS Tourism (and other departments) J&K, Shri Umand Narula IAS CMD Indian Tourism Development Corporation, Shri Yudhvir Sethi senior political leader and Patron JATO and Shri Rajesh Gupta Chairman Tourism Federation of Jammu directly interacted with prominent tour operators, bloggers and press media highlighting the composite culture of J&K in general and tourism possibilities in Jammu region in particular. The emphasis was laid on extending the leisure tourism facilities available in Jammu region to visiting Mata Vaishnodevi pilgrims and thus ensuring an increase in extra room nights in Jammu region including Bhaderwah, Basohali, Sukrala, Patnitop, Suchetgarh, Shahdra Shrief, Buda Amarnathji, Shiv Khori etc.. Jammu Association of Tour Operators lead by its President S. Amrik Singh was joined by other prominent members of trade including shri Sanjay Sareen President Jammu Golf Tourism Tourism Society, Shri Jatinder Kaul President TAAJ, Shri Asif Iqbal Secretay JKFTO, Shri Romesh Ahuja and Shri Sudhir Gulati of J&K Tourism Guild in organizing this event. JATO on this occasion released an audio visual presentation and promotional film on J&K Tourism, fresh brochures for tourism promotion and offered various packages to visiting tour operators. Hon’ble Minister Mrs Priya Sethi highlighted various plans of Govt. for promoting tourism in the State and presented in detail the facilities being developed to ensure that tourists get a feel of extended comfort while visiting Jammu. She also highlighted the state of the art Jammu Tawi Golf Course which is open round the year and invited Golfers from across the world to play Golf there. Shri Farooq Khan Administrator Lakshadweep islands while addressing the gathering highlighted the unexplored destinations in Jammu region, trek routes and peaceful atmosphere of Jammu province besides its other tourism strengths. Shri Umang Narula CMD ITDC also shared his experiences of J&K and his vast exposure as head of ITDC viz a viz a tourism promotion in J&K. Shri Rajesh Gupta Chairman Tourism Federation of Jammu assured the trade partners of best services and best destinations in J&K and shared his views on how tourism stake holders of J&K and J&K Government are working in complete coordination to ensure that Tourism in J&K grows at fastest speed with all professional care. Exclusive Dogri cultural programme conceptualized and choreographed by M/s Invision Entertainment Mumbai was the highlight of the evening. Shri Vishesh Mahajan Jt Secretary Tourism , Ms Khair Ul Nissa Shah Director World Trade Centre Mr Karan Jain Director Radisson Blu Kaushambi were prominent dignitaries present on the occasion.
