Speaker J&K legislative assembly and MLA, Gandhi Nagar, Kavinder Gupta visited various areas of the constituency and physically verified the status of the works.
He inspected the ongoing works and especially the ones for which the funds have been provided through his constituency development fund. He informed that Rs 35 lakhs for PDD, Rs 75 lakhs for RDD and rest for PHE, JMC, NGO’s, and some needy people have been provided by him to carry on the development works.
The Speaker said that works worth Rs 50 crores have been allocated by the PWD(R&B) department for Gandhi Nagar and in addition to this Rs 50 lakhs have been provided to PWD(R&B) through CAPEX scheme for the development of the area. Besides this, various works under MGNREGA, CD-Panchayat, Convergence, CRF, NABARD, Amrut and R-APDRP are also going on and it will mitigate the miseries of people to large extent, he said.
He said the previous successive governments in general and the local legislator in particular have only worked for their vested interests and said that the BJP is committed for development and rights of the people of Jammu.
Speaking on the issue of the distribution of ration and the implementation of NFSA in the state, he said that he is well aware of the issue and it will be solved very soon and he is in regular touch with the state administration and if need arises he will talk to union CAPD ministry as well. He cautioned the public that the rumor mongers should not be given importance as it only creates confusion and nothing else.
Underlining that in the last one year Jammu region in general and Gandhi Nagar constituency in particular has witnessed an unprecedented change in its infrastructure besides improvement in chaos and traffic jams free with new initiatives taken by the agencies and stressed that the city is going to get a total facelift in the time to come and will emerge as the cleanest city in the country.
