BJP State Spokesperson, Prof. Virender Gupta, while commenting upon the recent statements of Omar Abdullah that the conditions of Valley shall not improve, the stone pelters do not work on Rs. 500 and Rs. 1000 and demonetization would not affect the terrorism/separatist activities, said that his statements show that Omar is behind the curtain monitoring and instigating the present turmoil.
He added that Omar Abdullah’s assertion for political solution to Kashmir problem and in absence of that the situation in the Valley would not improve, is completely exclusive and does not take into considerations the aspirations and problems confronting the people of Jammu and Ladakh regions. He reminded Omar that people of Jammu and Ladakh regions and also a good section of people in Valley do not approve the demand of greater autonomy or pre-1952 position, instead they support the abrogation of Article 370 bringing J&K state completely under the preview of Indian Constitution and under the complete jurisdiction of Indian Parliament.
Prof. Virender said that people of Jammu region, Ladakh region, Gujjar/Bakerwals, PoJK displaced persons and KPs are major stake holders and not the separatists or Hurriyat leaders, who are responsible for the continuous disturbance in the Valley and working as a stooge of enemy country. He added that Jammu and Ladakh regions constitute about 80 per cent of the area of J&K, that is presently in India and no solution can be found that excludes the aspirations of the people residing in these regions, apart from those of other communities like Kashmiri Pandits, Gujjar, Bakerwal, Shia Muslims etc.
The Spokesperson warned Omar for playing divisive politics while propagating the cause of a section of Kashmiri population and ignoring the interests of others. In this way, he is helping in disintegration of the state.
