One day Awareness Camp-cum-Kisan Mela was held at indoor stadium at Leh which was organized by J&K State Advisory Board for Development of Kisans in collaboration with Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council Leh, Shri Daljit Singh Chib Hon’ble Vice Chairman (Minister of State) Kisan Board presided over the function and Dr. Sonam Dawa Lompo, Chief Executive Councilor Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council Leh was Chief Guest. Sh Chering Dorjey, Hon’ble Minister for Cooperatives and Ladakh Affairs, J&K State, Shri Newang Rigzen Zohra, Hon’ble MLA Leh, Shri T. Dangtus, Executive Councilor Incharge Agriculture and RDD LAHDC, Leh, Shri Mumtaz Hussain, Executive Councilor, Incharge Animal Husbandry, LAHDC Leh, T.Sangrup, Executive Councilor Incharge Tourism, LAHDC Leh and Shri D. Motup, Executive Councilor Incharge PWD, LAHDC Leh whereas Guests of Honour.
All the officers of Agriculture and allied departments were also present on the occasion. All the dignitaries impressed upon the farming community to use new and innovative agriculture technology to increase their agriculture growth. They said that it is the time of hybrid and a farmer should use the hybrid seeds so that they can generate and increase their income. They further said that more than 70% population in India is residing in villages and India cannot make any progress until the common farmers are not reform their fate by increasing their farm income.
In his inaugural speech the Vice Chairman threw light on the functions of Kisan Board and stated that Kisan Board has come into being for the welfare of common farmers of the state and assure them of every help.
