MLA RS Pura & Political Advisor to State BJP President Dr. Gagan Bhagat along with SSP Jammu Dr.Sunil Gupta, S.P(H.Q) Ramesh Kotwal , S.H.O R.S Pura Sh.Harish Dayama, I.P.S distributed prizes among the youths who participated in the Cricket tournament held at R.S Pura in the P.V.C Bana Singh Stadium by the Jammu & Kashmir District Police under the “ Civic Action Program”. While speaking on the occasion Dr.Gagan Bhagat appreciated the efforts of the Jammu & Kashmir Police for promoting sports among youths ,especially at R.S Pura.As a medico he knew the ill effects of the drugs in the mind and the body of the person, and not only an individual but the whole youth generation of Jammu & Kashmir is at great risk ,if necessary steps are not immediately taken we will lose our youths who are the future of our state added Dr.Gagan Bhagat. Diamond Cricket Club Simbal Camp trounced R.S Pura Press & Media Club by 2 wickets in a thrilling contest and lifted the J.K.P T20 Cup, played at P.V.C Bana Singh Ground ground, here today.Dr.Gagan Bhagat,Dr.Sunil Gupta ,along with Ramesh Kotwal distributed trophies and medals among the winners and runners-up teams along with Cash prizes from prominent citizens of R.S Pura.In his address, S.S.P Jammu said that Jammu and Kashmir Police will organize more events for the slum and under privileged cricketers in near future in a big manner with the objective to provide more platforms for these cricketers so that they can also show their talent.
He further said that the Police department is committed to arrange platforms for every youth of the State so they may be boosted and motivated in a right direction. Ramesh Kotwal, S.P (H.Q) while speaking said that Police is regularly conducting sports events under civic action program for the youths of R.S Pura and this event is also part of it. While briefing the Media Dr.Gagan Bhagat said that soon there will be series of Sporting events in the R.S Pura Constituency and he want that youths , both male and female should actively participate in that, he would like that the sports both indoor and outdoor sports tournaments will be organized , and a proper Annual Sports Calendar for R.S Pura will be prepared from the next month onwards, and schools and colleges will also be included in it so that the sports and the tournaments become a regular phenomenon of the R.S Pura Constituency, from which we will be able to discover the hidden talent among the youth, as the land of R.S Pura is very fertile, and here the youths are more physically strong as compared to other parts of the State. And regarding the Sports infrastructure, the indoor stadium has been almost ready and the youths can avail the facility of Indoor sports within few days, other facilities like Tennis Court,Volley Ball Court,Handball Court,Swimming Pool,Basket Ball Court will also be provided at the R.S Pura Constituency. Dr.Gagan Bhagat also advocated the provision of Scholarships for the Sportsperson, so that more youths are motivated to choose Sports as their carrier.Prominent among those who were present included S.D.P.O R.S Pura, S.H.O Miran Sahib, B.J.P R.S Pura Natharam,Inder Sudan,Omparkash Advani,Rajesh Choudhary,Gurdeep Saini,and others.
