Partha Chatterjee has perverted brain: Prof. Virender

BJP State Spokesperson Prof. Virender Gupta strongly criticized Parth Chatterjee who in his article in leftist propaganda website ‘The wire’ tried to compare General Dyer’s brutal action, in Jallianwala Bagh to that of India’s Army Chief General Bipin Rawat’s action of defending Major Leetul Gogoi who used in Kashmiri protester as human shield to control a mob in Budgam during bi-election of Srinagar parliamentary constituency and said that the article of Chatterjee is the product of a perverted and abnormal brain.

He said that General Dyer’s troops fired 1650 rounds, over the course of ten minutes on the unarmed crowd of about 1000 persons which have gathered on 13th April 1919 inside the garden to take part in Baisakhi celebrations, thereby killing 379 people on spot whereas Major Leetul Gogoi innovative action have saved the lives of the persons on duty to conduct the elections and mob of stone pelters and avoided the bloodshed.

Prof. Virender said that the comparison of General Dyer’s well planned action that took the lives of 379 unarmed persons with that of Major Leetul Gogoi who confronted the mob of 1200 armed protestors is extremely foolish and rubbish.

He added that the defence of Gogoi’s action by General Rawat amounts to hold the morale of his team that is engaged in fighting terrorism and the proxy war thrusted on India by its neighbour country and his this defence does not call for an erroneous article “In Kashmir, India is witnessing his General Dyer Moment”. He also condemned the reporting in communist party newspaper that views of Partha Chatterjee reflected those of a federal “government which seeks to suppress the people of Kashmir”.

The spokesperson also criticized the recent statements of Parkash Karat of CPM and those of some Congress leaders dragging the army in politics. They blamed that army was toeing the line of the government. His questioned that whose line the army should toe. He said that the army and the government should work hand-in-hand towards a common goal for the security and defence of the country and added that India is not Pakistan where the Pakistan army dictates the government.
