Minister of State for Education, Technical Education, Culture, Tourism, Horticulture, Floriculture and Parks Priya Sethi today visited the famous Zanana Park and inspected the facilities available in the park for ladies. While inquiring about the status of installations, Priya enjoined upon the authorities to make the fountain in the park working at the earliest and directed for proper upkeep of the park and other facilities which have been created for the convenience of ladies. She said that the park is one of the oldest and famous ladies parks and provides lung space to females in the otherwise crowded old city. She directed for re-modification of the restroom facility as well as provision for additional gardener in the park. The Minister also directed for installation of water cooler at the earliest and to maintain proper cleanliness sufficient number of dustbins should be provided in the park. Further the issue of women security was also taken up by the Minister. Underlining commitment of the Government towards women welfare, the Minister said that the Chief Minister has launched number of special initiatives like women bus service, incentives for women entrepreneurs, additional women police stations, 10% reservation of space for women in industrial estates, subsidy on two wheelers and other such schemes. She said that on the similar lines the Government would also explore options for developing parks for women with modern facilities, adding that the existing facilities in the Zanana park would be upgraded for the benefit of women. Earlier, Priya also inaugurated a Yoga camp in the park.
