Priya, Yudhvir invite Bazar Associations, Traders to inaugural event

Opening of Asia’s longest tunnel’ Minister of State for Education, Technical Education, Culture, Tourism, Department of Horticulture, Floriculture and Parks Priya Sethi and State vice-President Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) Yudhvir Sethi today held a meeting with representatives of Bazars, travel and trade organisations and invited them to the opening of Chenani-Nashri Tunnel and stand by Prime Minister Narendra Modi who has massive socio-economic development plans for Jammu and Kashmir State.
Terming Asia’s longest bidirectional Rs 2519 Crore Chenani-Nashri tunnel as ‘lifeline’ of Jammu and Kashmir State’s surface transport network, Priya sethi and Yudhvir Sethi said that one thrown open to public this engineering marvel will boost economy of our state and also give a boost to tourism sector. They said that major benefit of this tunnel will be for the people of Kud, Batote and Patnitop who will have better ecological conditions which they can tap to attract more tourists.
Urging representative of travel and trade organisations besides bazaar associations to come and visit the site on April 2, 2017when Prime Minister Narendra Modi will dedicate this Asia’s longest tunnel to nation, Priya and Yudhvir said that more such projects were in pipe line and work on same will be started soon to give all three regions of the state a better and all weather connectivity. They said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was very much concerned about restoring peace in the state and giving equal employment opportunities to people of all three regions of the state for their prosperity.

Apprising those present in the meeting of Tunnel’s features, Priya Sethi and Yudhvir Sethi said this tunnel will reduce time travel by two hours, help conserves forests, save fuel and will be an all weather route for the benefit of trade and travel purposes. Because of use of this tunnel the country will also save fuel to the tune of about Rs 100 crore per year which is a huge amount. Spelling out the features of Chenani-Nashri tunnel, they said that its protected by world class security system, is 9.35 Kms having parallel escape tunnel, cross passage and an integrated traffic control system for the safety of users.
Urging people to come and witness a history in making, Yudhvir Sethi and Priya Sethi said tunnel ventilation system, evacuative broadcast system, entrance detection control system, electric fire signaling system, video surveillance, wireless communication system and SOS call boxes at every 150 m are all worth an experience that are going to ensure utmost safety of people and put Jammu and Kashmir State on world tourism map as well.
Priya Sethi in her address extended her gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for dedicating this tunnel to public. She said that earlier projects like Soil Health Card Scheme, Swatchh Bharat Abhiyan, Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana, Integrated Ganga Conservation Mission, Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao Yojana, Digital India Programme, Housing for All By 2022 and Atal Pension Yojna have all helped live an honourable life.
Yudhvir Sethi in his address urged those present in the meeting to extend their support to the coalition government, reach Udhampur in large numbers and listen to historic speech of Prime Minister Narendra Modi who has massive plans for the state in years to come. The BJP leaders asserted that this is an era of development, peace, accountability and transparency that’s going to change the fate of people of all three regions of the state in next one decade.
