MLA Jammu east and BJP chief whip in the assembly Rajesh Gupta asked and sought details from the concerned Ministry regarding the details of black marketing/irregularities detected and action taken against the concerned especially the black marketing of kerosine and its use by the commercial vehicles in the state.
In answer to this the minister incharge deptt.of food civil supplies and consumer affairs replied and said that the deptt. has taken a number of steps for checking the black marketing of the essential commodities and in this regard registered a number of cases and the detailed statistics were provided.
Rajesh Gupta also asked about the requirements and imports of food grains in the state during the past 3 years as also in the current year.The reasons for shortage and irregular supply.
Rajesh Gupta also sought details Of The procurement of wheat and paddy made during the said period.The name of the procurement agency and places where procurement centres were set up.
The concerned minister gave the details regarding the imports of food grains and said that the deptt.directly procures food grains from FCI.
Rajesh Gupta also asked supplimentry guestions regarding the shortage of food grains in the godowns for the last 6 months.He also asked as to why the consumers were not given sugar on the festival of Deepawali as is being done at the time of Eid festival.He also asked as to why the rates of wheat flour have been raised from 7 rupees per kg to 12 rupees per kg in the ration depots.
