MLA Jammu east Rajesh Gupta started the civil works of crating along the banks of Tawi River Front from Hari Singh Park to Press Club Jammu. The civil work would provide solid embankment along the Tawi River Front and help prevent erosion at the times of heavy discharge in the river particularly when the river is in spate during the monsoon months.The embankment along the banks of Tawi in this area would also act as a first line of defence for the people of the area during the times when the river is in spate.The officials of the flood control department who accompanied the MLA included Nazir Ahmad Chowdhary Xen, Ashok Kumar Gupta AEE, Rajnikant Khajuria AE.The work is estimated to cost rupees 26.5 lakhs. Rajesh Gupta while speaking on the occasion said that development alone would solve the problem of violence and extremism. The people of Jammu have always displayed exemplary brotherhood at all times even when other areas of the state were in a state of unrest. Rajesh Gupta said that our Deputy CM Dr Nirmal Singh Ji is guiding us to carry forward the agenda of development and to reach out to the last man in the society. The teams of our activists are going in all the areas and apprising the common people about the various pro people schemes launched by the govt. Rajesh Gupta said that the alliance of BJP and PDP is in the interest of the people of the state and would lead to the balanced development of all the regions of J&K. Rajesh Gupta said that we would always be guided by the mantra of Sabka Sath Sabka Vikaas and would not rest till all the developmental objectives of the Jammu east constituency are achieved.
