MLA inaugurates Farmers Awareness camp
BJP Legislative Party leader and Ex-Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Nirmal Singh has asked the state administration to rectify the anomalies in the implementation of National Food Security Act and fixing minimum ration scale to the family having below 6 members. He also urged the governor to announce relief for the drought hit Kandi area farmers whose crops have been damaged in the absence of rains in the state.
Addressing gathering on the occasion of District level Exhibition/Kissan Mela organized by Sericulture Development department under centrally sponsored scheme ATMA at Drung Dungara, Dr. Nirmal Singh said that certain discrepancies have creeped in the NFSA keeping in view the peculiar food habits of all the three regions in the state viz Ladakh, Jammu and Kashmir. He urged the Governor to take corrective measures on distribution of wheat instead of flour, non-distribution of ration for last two months etc.He asked the administration to take note of the objections of people.
Dr. Nirmal Singh said that farmers of Kandi area have been hit hard by drought like conditions and govt should announce some relief for them. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has recently launched PM Fasal Beema Yojana which has been implemented by many states. J&K Govt should also implement the same at the earliest as it has many benefits for the small and marginal farmers.
Dr. Nirmal Singh urged the farmers to take benefits of Govt sponsored schemes and take to cocoon rearing, bee keeping, cattle stock rearing to supplement the agricultural income.
