Minister of State for Education, Technical Education, Culture, Tourism, Department of Horticulture, Floriculture and Parks, Priya Sethi said that it’s because of ‘Good Governance’ that Jammu and Kashmir State has been brought back on the rails of development, peace and prosperity. The previous regime, she added had created a big mess in terms of employment, administration, development and even financial accountability that had led to complete anarchy leaving people high and dry.
Priya Sethi was speaking at a function to commemorate 8th Nari Sammelan day organized by Prajapati Sabha J&K on the Prakash Utsav of Shri Shri
Yadhe Mataji at Sant Gora Ji Bhawan here today. She said that it’s because of coalition government’s continuing efforts that a system of governance has been put in place in this state. Unlike past, administration today is responsive, people’s issues are being addressed, jobs are being done in a time bound manner and most importantly an accountability has been established.
Greeting former prime minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) stalwart Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his 93rd birthday today, Priya Sethi said he remained a parliamentarian par excellence for over four decades before retiring from active politics due to health concerns. She called upon the civil society to work jointly with the government with an aim to both protect rights and promote opportunities for them to achieve the objective of women empowerment.
She said that the coalition government is making comprehensive efforts and working tirelessly for the welfare of the people with special focus on the welfare of women. Programmes like Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, women police stations, special buses for women, scooty scheme for girls are all flagship programmes to help society give girls an honorable life, Priya Sethi informed the audiences.
Priya Sethi, while remembering work done by Atal Bihari Vajpayee during his tenure said that he’s a political persona known for his exemplary leadership and contribution to Indian politics. Atal Bihari Vajpayee has also been conferred Bharat Ratna, India’s highest civilian honour after which as a special gesture, the Narendra Modi-led government in 2014 had announced that Vajpayee’s birthday would be celebrated as Good Governance Day annually.
On being apprised with some demands put forth by the members of Prajapati Sabha,the Minister assured them that all their genuine demands will be considered at the earliest.
