BJP State President & MLA Sat Sharma inaugurated the newly constructed lanes, drains and tile works in Ward No. 30, Talab Tillo in presence of a large number of party activists, local residents and the officials of Jammu Municipal Corporation.
Sat Sharma, while speaking on the occasion, said that with the inauguration of the said lanes and drains, the people will now get respite from the problems being faced by them as the condition of the lanes in particular was dilapidated. He said that although there existed the drains and lanes in Ward No. 30 but during the works undertaken for lying of water and sewerage pipes, the dugging of lanes caused damage to them and resulted into piling of garbage, mud and unlevelled paths. He said that the vehicles could not ply nor the people walk comfortably in such condition of the lanes. The people had been repeatedly demanding immediate repairs/construction of the lanes and drains.
Sat Sharma said that the Prime Minister Narendera Modi has launched “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan” across the country with a motive of making people aware about the need and importance of keeping surroundings clean. Cleanliness also helps in making disease free environment and a healthy atmosphere for good living. He said that the construction of lanes, drains and fixing of tiles has given a good look to the area and it is now more clean and healthy. He appealed the people to adopt the habit of cleanliness in day to day life and be part of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
