Keeping a vigil on the present situation of the power cuts in Jammu, State President and MLA Jammu West Sat Sharma (CA) toured various areas including Lakhar Mandi and adjoining area which are facing crisis of electricity cuts from past few days. Sharma visited the spots along with officials of various departments including PDD, PHE & JMC. Local residents and political activists were also present.
Speaking on the occasion, Sat Sharma said that it is a matter of great concern that people are facing great crisis of electricity in this season of scorching heat and it will be seen that within hours the power situation is restored back to normal. He said that he also took the matter with Deputy Chief Minister who is also holding the portfolio of Power Development.
He said that a night before a delegation around dozens of people met him and apprised him of the situation and redressing their grievance quickly as possible, he immediately called the concerned officials and arranged his tour to the area.
He also directed the officials of the other departments as well as to increase the pace of developmental works in the area and other areas of Jammu West in order to provide better service to the masses. He also directed Chief Engineer PHE as well to quickly install water pipes and taps in the area in order to overcome the water problem of the area.
