In order to have the physical verification of the small units financed by Jammu and Kashmir Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes & Backward Classes Development Corporation Limited, its Vice Chairperson, Balbir Ram Rattan, along with Jammu District Manager Joginder Paul Atri and Field Supervisor Jatinder Singh, inspected a Tailoring & Cutting shop in Sanjay Nagar area of Jammu District.
This shop is being run by one Jeet Lal, belonging to Scheduled Caste category, with the financial assistance of rupees one lakh as loan from the said Corporation.
Balbir Ram Rattan, on this occasion, enquired about the utilization of the loan availed by the loanee and stressed upon him to educate the unemployed males and females of his community to avail the benefits of the welfare schemes of the union government as well as those of the state government meant for the socio-economic upliftment of the weaker sections.
The Vice Chairperson, while advising Jeet Lal to ensure timely deposit of the monthly instalments of the money taken by him as loan from the Corporation, said that the amount paid back is used for providing loan to other people of the weaker sections for helping them in establishing own earning units and become self dependent instead of sitting idle. He also shared the scheme of granting Education Loan and said that the meritorious students of the reserved categories, whose parents cannot afford to send their wards for professional and technical courses, can get financial assistance from the Corporation for studying within the country and abroad.
