A mesmerizing Shiv Khori Yatra was flagged out today from Gurha, Bakshi Nagar. The Yatra was flagged off by State President BJP and MLA Jammu West Sat Sharma (CA). Hundreds of devotees including men, women and children participated in the Yatra and chanted names of the Lord Shiva. As part of a old tradition, the yatra is being taken to holy shrine at Reasi every year by the locals of Gurha and other adjoining areas of Jammu City.
Speaking on the occasion, Sat Sharma said that the presence of hundreds of people shows the enthusiasm of the people and their devotion which has created a beautiful atmosphere in the area.
Stating Yatra’s significance, he said yatra is an essential part of the ritual of the Hindu system of worship and being unique among all Yatras, it is one of the places which is considered to be very important in our religion as well.
The devotees, enroute were dancing and reciting Bhajans in praise of Lord Shiva. Sweets, Water and Fruits were also served to the devotees who had participated in Yatra.
Prominent present were District President BJP Ayodhya Gupta, Raju Sharma, Munish Gupta, Atul bakshi, Swantantar Ram, Prem Gupta, Sahil Sharma, Sunny Gupta, Bikas Gupta, Snajeev Malhotra, Ripu daman, Kanta Devi, Rita Kumari, Sheila Sharma, Meenakshi Gupta, Seema Gupta and many others were also present.
