Students must respect parents, teachers: Khanna

State BJP today organized a programme at Trikuta Nagar Office to honour the students of Jammu city who secured top positions in the 12th class, which was presided over by National Vice President & Jammu and Kashmir Prabhari Avinash Rai Khanna and BJP State President & MLA Sat Sharma (C.A), who gave away special mementos to the position holders in which girls outnumbered the boys.
While addressing these meritorious students and their parents, Avinash Rai Khanna said that parents and teachers deserve the respect and the recognition as they are the persons who chisel the young minds into high achievers for the benefit of the entire country and the society. Students should always show respect and regard for their parents and the teachers. He further counseled the students to concentrate on acquiring good and positive knowledge and talents and not to shove superfluous and useless knowledge and facts into their minds, thereby leaving little room for memorizing and remembering good and positive things. He also advised them to always endeavor for high achievements by working hard and should never be motivated by the feelings of jealousy.
Sat Sharma, in his address, said that these students have done proud not only to their families but to the society of Jammu. It is very gladdening that now girls are outshining the boys in academic fields and the day is not far off when they will be in the forefront in all other fields as equals to their male compatriots. He further informed that all the MPs, MLAs and MLCs of BJP have adopted schools to convert them into Model Schools equipped with the best educational tools and tutors so that they act as inspiration for the entire educational sector of the state to improve their quality. This would benefit the pupils and the entire young generation of the state. He also highlighted the focused efforts of PM Narendra Modi to universally popularize Yoga to fulfill the dream of Swami Vivekanand. The “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan” launched by Modi reflects the effort to fulfill the dream of father of the nation Mahatma Gandhi who wanted India to be clean and pure and launching of “Beto Bachao Beti Padao” campaign shows the concern of PM Modi to impress upon parents not to kill female child, educate girls and provide them opportunities to progress in life.
State Secretary Ch. Vikram Randhawa conducted the proceedings of the programme.
State General Secretary (Org.) Ashok Kaul, State General Secretaries S. Narinder Singh, Pawan Khajuria and Harinder Gupta, MLC Ajatshatru Singh and State Incharge “Beti Bachao Beti Padao” campaign SS Bijral were also present on the occasion.
