Presides Over a Students Programme at Govt. Degree College Rajouri
On the occasion of valedictory function of the various vocational and certificate courses being conducted by Government Degree College Rajouri a impressive function was today organized at the college campus. The programme was inaugurated by BJP senior leader and MLC Vibodh Gupta and college principal Prof. Shabir Ahmad Shah presided over the function. In his introductory remarks Programme Coordinator Prof. Javed Mugal informed that these vocational training courses contribute to add on training to the students in addition to their routine curriculum. These courses are being conducted at the college since 2006 and are being supported by UGC along with University of Jammu. He further informed the gathering that during the 2015 – 2016 session 240 students successfully completed the course and out of these 22 students bagged A+ grade which is a great achievement for the college.
Addressing the students after awarding certificates to the students, chief guest of the function MLC Vibodh Gupta called upon the students to try to do exceptional things which requires positive attitude, courage and commitment. Appreciating the college management for conducting add on courses on Tourism and Journalism he called upon the student community to make best use of this great opportunity at their door steps. He cautioned the students not to do these courses just for the sake of certificates. These courses provide skills to the students for making their own carriers in different fields like Tourism and Journalism. Both these fields have tremendous employment opportunities. He urged the student community specially youth to see the great commitment and positive attitude in our Hon’ble Prime Minister Narinder Modi and use him as a icon to move ahead in life. Through this we can provide great service to our society and to our nation. Speaking on the occasion college principal Prof. Shabir Ahmad Shah congratulated the students for successfully completing these highly professional courses being supported by UGC to impart special skills to the youth. He said that these skills will help those students who want to shape their future in a different way. He also thanked MLC Vibodh Gupta for his support of Rs. 5 Lakh to the college which enabled the college to make various foot paths in the campus.
The students who achieved A+ grade in these courses included Sahil Gupta, Shamyla Khan, Taiba Bhat, Priya Rajput, Kajal Sharma, Farhan Dar, Addullah, Kanvi Sharma and Bhavna Verma. Prominent among others who were present on the occasion included Prof. Haqeeqat Singh Isher, Prof. M Iqbal Raina, Dr. S A Azad, Dr. M A Qurashi, Prof. M P Sharma, Prof. Asif Ajaz Lone among others.
