Underscoring commitment of the Government for tourism and infrastructure development, Minister of State for Education, Technical Education, Tourism, Culture, Horticulture, Floriculture and Parks, Priya Sethi said that various mega development projects underway will ensure improved infrastructure and go a long way to boost the tourism industry of the State. “Our Chief Minister has tagged tourism as priority sector and during her recent visit to Mubarak Mandi Heritage Complex and other border areas has directed for early completion of tourism projects besides ensuring promotion of border tourism in the region,” she added. The Minister was speaking at a function organised by various trade organisations at Hari Market, here today. Underlining the need to promote independent tourist circuits, Priya Sethi said that the Government is mulling to develop a tourist circuit starting from Peer Baba Satwari to RS Pura passing through historical Shri Shiv Temple new Airport; Prince of Wales spot, Tulip Garden, Suchetgarh Border, Gahrana wet land and Purmandal. She said that ambitious projects of Multi Level Parking at Bus Stand, Mubarak Mandi Heritage Complex, Artificial Lake Complex and Tawi Bank development has been fast tracked to ensure they meet the set timelines. Priya also inaugurated newly black topped road in the Hari Market area and and sanctioned development works worth Rs 8.0 lakh from her CDF for the overall up-gradation and improvement of the Municipal Park, Hari Market. She directed the Municipal authorities to immediately take up installation of swings, water cooler, garden turfing, fountain works and other allied works in the park.
