We are proud being citizen of world highest democracy: MLC
For the first time in the history a political party unfurled National Flag and celebrated Republic Day in Muslim infested Thanamandi area of Rajouri.
Thanamandi remained most affected area during militancy and no political party ever celebrated any national Day in the area. It was for the first time in the history of Thanamandi that Bhartiya Janta Party organised Republic Day function at Town Hall where Member Legislative Council Advocate Vibodh Gupta unfurled National Flag and addressed locals. The programme was organised by Abdul Gani Shawl Mandal President of Bhartiya Janta Party Thanamandi in which local Muslims participated with great pump and show.
Speaking on the occasion, Bhartiya Janta Party leader and Member Legislative Council Advocate Vibodh Gupta said that national flag was adopted on 22nd of July in 1947 in the wake of Indian independence from British rule and was designed and adopted as a symbol of the nationalism and freedom. He said that It is symbol of unity to lead us on one common way of Dharma even after being of different faiths and religions of Hinduism, Islam and Sikhism. He added that India has got this flag after scarifies of freedom fighters and make an environment of free India for all of us.
Highlighting the beauty of being republic, Vibodh said that in a republic nation every body is free to express his vies. He said that it is the beauty of the democracy in India that some people are expressing anti- India views openly on streets and India is bearing all this. He said that in contract of it, there is lawlessness in Pakistan which is democratic only on papers not in practical. He said that nobody can raise voice against Pakistan in Pakistan and if somebody tried in past, he was either kicked out from the country or brutally murdered or hanged. He said that he is proud of a citizen of world highest democracy.
Appreciating the role of Rajouri Poonch people in maintaining peace, MLC said that people of Thanamandi are having positive approach. He said that some people tried hard to create communal wedge in this area but the people remained united and always support National ideologies. He congratulated people for their National spirit.
Meanwhile Mandal President of Bhartiya Janta Party Thanamandi Abdul Gani Shawl thanked people of Thanamandi for participating the National event organised by their party. He said that National Day is important for all communities and Muslims of this area celebrate it great fervour. He said that they have never supported anti national elements and always opposed the anti national policies of the separatists. He appealed Muslims of Thanamandi area to come under the ambit of BJP for development of the area.
