BJP State Secretary Anuradha Charak,Mahila Morcha State General Secretary Anju Dogra, Mahila Morcha Jammu District President Rekha Mahajan, alongwith Mahila Morcha leaders, visited the offices of SDPO Jammu East, Arun Jamwal, SHO Police Station, Satwari, Manjeet Singh and SHO, Bahu Fort, Bimal Indu, to ties rakhis on their wrists and also CRPF jawans deployed there.
The event was organised by Jammu District Mahila Morcha District President Rekha Mahajan.
On these occasions, Anuradha Charak conveyed her wishes to the army jawans and policemen and said that we are always with them as this is our firm belief that they should not have a feeling of being away from their homes and families on this auspicious festival of Raksha Bandhan. While applauding the role of policemen and security forces, she said that the people sleep at night while these men awake and act as guards, which is highly appreciable task.
Rekha Mahajan said that the women activists of the BJP and Mahila Morcha have came there to tie rakhies to the soldiers and policemen, who are bravely guarding the citizens under hostile conditions. The Jawans may be missing this sacred festival as they cannot visit their home because of their duty. She said that the old tradition of tying Raksha Sutra in the Hindu Culture dates back to the centuries unaccounted and with the passage of time it has gone out of the family bounds and inspired the women folk to tie rakhis to the people who are serving the nation as also protecting their countrymen.
Prominent among those who also tied rachis included Morcha State Secretary Neeru Anand, Morcha District General Secretary Savita Anand, BJP District Secretary Shallu Gupta, Morcha District Secretary Pooja Chouhan, Saroj Gupta and Asha Sharma.
