A programme on “Ladli Beti” was organised by the ward president, Charanjeet Kour, in Ward No 44, under the leadership of Rekha Chouhan, President Mahila Morcha Gandhi Nagar Mandal.
Rekha Chouhan said that Ladli Beti scheme launched by J&K Govt.is meant for new born girl child in the state. Under the scheme, the state govt. will contribute Rs 1000 per month towards the birth of every girl child born after April 1,2015. Upon reaching the age of 21, the girl child would receive a sum of Rs 6.5 Lakhs.
Prerna Nanda General Secretary Mahila Morcha Gandhi Nagar Mandal also said that Ladli Beti is a path breaking welfare scheme and the deserving people must take its full advantage.She also laid stress on imparting skill development training to women so that they can earn their livelihood and become financially empowered.
Pooja Chouhan, District Secretary filled the forms of Ladli Beti of the newly born girl child namely Harsanjh Kour wherein Harneet Kour (Mother) and Gajinder Singh (Father) of the child were also present.
The team of Mahila Morcha Gandhi Nagar Mandal includes Shashi Sethi general Secretary, Meenu Devi,Asha Devi, Swarna Paudiwal, Ram Pyari, Sheela Abrol.
At the end, Mahila Morcha Gandhi Nagar Mandal honoured the little girl child on her birth with pretty gifts
