Shri Daljit Singh Chib, (MoS) Hon’ble Vice Chairman, J&K State Advisory Board for Development of Kisans Distributed free gas connections to BPL householders at Shahid Bahadur Gas Agency at Check Malal , Khour in which Shri Ram Paul Tehsildar Khour was also present there. These new gas connections were distributed under the Scheme Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana launched by Shri Narendra Modi, Hon’ble Prime Minister of India on Ist of May, 2016 .
Shri Chib distributed More than 230 new gas connections to the below poverty line (BPL) families . He said this Scheme will Empower women and protect their health, by reducing the serious health problems associated with cooking based on fossil fuel. It will reduce the number of deaths in India due to unclean cooking fuel. It will also Prevent young children from significant number of acute respiratory illnesses caused due to indoor air pollution by burning the fossil fuel.
He also said that the government has already allocated Rs. 2000 crore for the Ujjwala Yojana implementation for the financial year 2016-17. The Government will distribute LPG connections to about 1.5 Crore BPL families within the current financial year.
Some reputed families from Khour area voluntarily gave away the subsidy and requested the Vice Chairman that these connections will be given to the other deserving BPL families which was loudly appreciated by the gathering.
Shri Daljit Singh Chib Said that this is another milestone achieved by the Modi led Government in the Centre and the coalition Government in the State.
Some prominent persons were also present on the occasion are Yashpaul, Mela Ram,Sukhdev Singh,Baba Bharti, Rajeshwar Singh etc.
