Shri Daljit Singh Chib, (Minister of State), Vice Chairman J&K State Advisory Board for Development of Kisans today welcomed all the newly nominated members of the State Advisory Board for Development of Kisans, who were recently approved by the General Administration Department.
Shri Chib was happy to see the positive approach of the members and said that the main task of the members is to see the problems of the farmers in their respective areas and their solution. He said that Mtr. Mufti Ji, Hon’ble Chief Minister of the State being the Chairman of the Board has assured all the help and guidance to the Agriculture allied sectors in Jammu and Kashmir.
While highlighting the progress made by the Board after formation of the coalition Government of BJP-PDP, Shri Chib said that Government has waived loans of the farmers of J&K under Kisan Credit Card up to 1 Lakh.
Shri Chib said that the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yogna has been implemented in the State and the farmers have to pay a meager sum towards crop insurance for both Rabi and Karif Crops. This is the one of the bold steps taken for the benefit of farmers.
Shri Chib said that it is the responsibility of the Board members to ensure that the farmers will get maximum benefit from the Schemes which are being implemented by the State/ Centre.
While holding threadbare discussions with the members the Vice Chairman said that our Board is holding Mega Kisan Melas in the State so as to provide the latest information about the scientific farming and the new techniques which will boost the economy of the State. It is the duty of the members to ensure that the quality seed must reach to the farmers well in time.
The members demanded that there will be a cold storage in every district Headquarter so that the farmers can use the same to keep their produce in these cold stores.
As Basmati Mission has been started by the Agriculture Department due to the continuous efforts of Hon’ble Vice Chairman so that Jammu region can be recognized at international level and the farmers can get maximum benefit
Lastly Mr.Chib said that close coordination among the members will definitely lead the Board towards success and wished a happy and prosperous life to all the members.
