Govt committed to promote art, culture: Priya

Balwant Thakur’s internationally acclaimed Dogri play ‘Ghumayee’ which brought Dogri language and culture in global limelight was staged by Natrang at Abhinav Theatre Jammu. Minister of State for Education, Culture, Technical Education, Tourism, Horticulture, Floriculture and Parks Priya Sethi was the chief guest on the occasion whereas senior leader Yudhvir Sethi was the guest of honor. Sangeeta Gupta, Principal Commissioner Income Tax Department and Saswati Bandopadhyay, Principal Controller of Defence Accounts, North India were the special guests on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, Priya Sethi appreciated the performance of artists of the play and said that the talented team has brought laurels for the State at national and international level. She said that the Government is committed to promote culture and art of the State by providing conducive environment to the artists for nurturing their talent. The lead actors of the play who have performed record number of shows of this play all over the country and abroad since last 16 years gave remarkable performances. Performance of Vikrant Sharma, Anil Tickoo, Neeraj Kant, Subash Jamwal, Sumeet Sharma, Rahul Singh and Ankush Lakhnotra. Gauri Thakur was highly appreciated by the dignitaries and the audience.
