Kavinder Gupta pitches for Judicious use of available resources

Reviews ongoing development works of Jammu Municipal Corporation:
In order to review the development activities and identifying the lacuna in the ongoing development works, Speaker J&K assembly and MLA, Gandhi Nagar, Kavinder Gupta chaired a meeting of the officers of Jammu Municipal Corporation in his office here today.

Those who participated in the meeting include CTO, Talat Mehmood, Assistant Executive Engineers, JMC, Rajiv Pandoh & S. Gurcharan Singh, Baldev Singh Billowria besides Junior Engineers, Sanitary officers and other field staff of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC).

At the outset of the meeting the Speaker sought detailed report from the officers regarding the directions issued in the last meeting, ongoing works and the works completed.

The meeting was informed that works for construction/repairing of lanes & drains, Blacktopping have been expedited after the sanctioning of Rs 10 lakhs each for every ward in the first phase and Rs. 30 lakhs for the second phase.

During the meeting various issues were discussed and Speaker appreciated the efforts undertaken by the department for boosting the development activities in the area.

He said that the JMC is the life line of the city area and the government is taking every possible step to ensure its proper functioning and asked the officers to judiciously use the resources; both available and provided the government from time to time.

The Speaker stressed for maintaining the quality of work rendered by the Jammu Municipal Corporation and asked the concerned that there should be no use of sub-standard material for the construction works; any lapse in this regard will be viewed seriously and responsibility shall be fixed on the part of concerned officer/officials so involved.

He directed the CTO to take efficient measures well before the onset of monsoon to overcome the problem being faced by the people during monsoon season as well as to deploy extra men and machinery to de-silt the nallahs and remove the encroachments adjoining the nallahs.
