On the eve of Gandhi Jayanti and the 2nd year of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan cleanliness drive was organized on the banks of Suryaputri Tawi near Vikram Chowk.
The programme was organised by the convenor of Tawi Bachao Aandolan Chander mohan Sharma and attended by the Gen Secretary organization Ashok Koul and Jammu east MLA and party chief whip Rajesh Gupta.
It may be recalled that Swachh Bharat Abhiyan was launched last year by Modi Ji and has created awareness nationwide regarding maintaining a clean environment.
JMC commissioner Dr.Manmohan Singh also accompanied the BJP leaders in launching swachh Bharat Abhiyan at Suryaputri River Tawi Vikram Chowk.
The leaders present on the occasion pledged to make Tawi river clean in cooperation with the Tawi Bachao Aandolan and offered all support to the convenor Shri Chander mohan Sharma and lauded his efforts towards the cause.
The function was attended by about 300 party workers and the prominent among them included Prof Shyam, Murari Lal, Subhash Gupta, Raj Kumar, Pradeep Sharma, Gobind Sarin, Sunil Dogra, Kuldeep, Gokul Koul, Ravi Singh, P.C.Gupta, Purshottam and Ajay Bharti.
