BJP State Spokesperson Prof. Virender Gupta while reacting to the statements of Farooq Abdullah, G.A. Mir, Tariq Hameed Karra, Omar Abdullah and other leaders of National Conference and Congress about Article 35A said that these parties are beating the drums on the issue which is pending in the Supreme Court and no judgement has been so far delivered. Their noise may be because of the fact that they are on weak legs and are afraid of the judgement which they pre-assume may go against the retention of article 35A. The criticism of BJP on the issue is also uncalled for as BJP as a party or the Government at the Centre has not challenged the legality of 35A. These parties and their leaders always remained in search of issues so that they can regain back their base among the public, which has rejected them in the assembly elections. Some of the leaders, including Devender Singh Rana is creating panic among the people of Jammu province while exploiting the people of the Province telling that their culture, identity and demography would be put at stake if the Article 35A is set aside by the Supreme Court, Rana also frighten the Dogras that a large flux of people from rest of the country including business men shall settle in Jammu province, would capture their business and snatch their employment opportunities both in private and the government sectors.
Prof. Virender said that is merely an hoax, the fact of the matter is that no person from outside the state is going to settle in the state which have very little resources and potentials to create opportunities for growth and development. The states like Himachal Pradesh or Uttrakhand which have terrain and climatic conditions, mostly similar to Jammu province do not face any such problem of loosing identity change of demography.
The Spokesperson said contrary to what is being propaged by Rana the employment opportunity for the people of Jammu province would increase, if big industries are established.
He informed the people of Jammu region that Article 35A provides authorities to the state to enact a law to resettle the people who were originally state subjects but have settled in Pakistan or in PoK, in the state of Jammu and Kashmir and added that people of Jammu must be aware of the Resettlement Bill that was passed by State Legislature under the Chief Ministership of Farooq Abdullah that was challenged in the Supreme Court.
Prof. Virender said that real challenge that the people of Jammu are facing is from the Kashmir based political parties and Jammu based parties/leaders who act as subservient to Kashmiri leadership. He added that people of Jammu region are not getting their due share in all walks of life, they are being discriminated in government services, in professional education sector, in allocation of development funds and in the overall development of the region. He further said that the greatest danger that the Jammu region, the Dogra land is facing is because of the communal politics of those leaders who are presently crying for the protection of article 35A or 370 and who are bent upon to change the demography of Jammu region and diminish its identity and culture.
He said that the people who are presently praising Maharaja Hari Singh are the descendents/followers of those who humiliated him, forced him to quit the rein of the state and leave the state forever under a conspiracy hatched between them and the Congress leadership at Delhi. He asked the people to remain conscious of these people /parties who always remained anti-Dogra and anti-Maharaja.
